I'll be the first to admit, it's not exactly ice cream weather around here, but really, do you need a reason for a sweet after-dinner treat? My son is loving strawberry ice cream right now. Every night after we eat he requests "two scoops please! In a cone!". The lovely pink color and the chunks of fresh strawberry almost make me feel like I'm giving him something healthy! (The same goes for me, as I can't resist a spoonful or two.)

Here are some places in Milwaukee that serve up some delicious, sweet ice cream treats. You can even have two scoops- in a cone!

Kopps Frozen Custard, Various locations: OK, it's actually custard and not ice cream, but you can't miss out on Kopps. Hands down the freshest, most flavorful, most fantastic stuff on the planet. (Can you tell I like it a little?)

Leons, a Milwaukee original and historical landmark. A Milwaukee favorite since 1942.

Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors, for when you just can't decide. With multiple locations and more than a handful of choices, everyone can find something they like here. 

Oscars Frozen Custard, also known for tasty burgers, you can visit Oscars at the Waukesha or West Allis location.

Ferch's Malt Shop & Grill, located in Greendale, they actually have low-carb custard- that tastes GOOD.
