Take an Earth Day Walk

April 22, 2009

This week's list is being published today in honor of Earth Day!

With the sun shining and the spring-like temperatures, it's time to get out and appreciate the outdoors. Luckily Milwaukee has many great places for a nature hike. Here are some of them:

Grant Park: With seven bridges, winding trails and of course, a great playground, you can spend all afternoon taking in the beauty of Lake Michigan and fresh air.

The Urban Ecology Center: I know I mention the UEC often, but I would re-miss if I didn't mention it. Visit the website for all of the Earth Day festivities.

Schlitz Audobon Center: With miles of trails and wildlife, only 15 minutes away from Milwaukee it's a great escape. You will feel like you've gone to the North Woods.

Wehr Nature Center: In Whitnall Park, choose from five miles of trails and visit various different eco-systems.

You can find trail maps for all of these places online. Enjoy this beautiful Earth Day!
