The funny section

November 18, 2008

As you know, I've got two boys. While we haven't quite reached the stage yet where all things bathroom related are hilarious (thank goodness) there is still a lot of silliness to go around.

I've found this is not always so in the genre of kid's books that my little adores: cars and trucks. Often times I'm struggling to keep my eyes open while I flip the pages of another dry book with pictures of excavators and dump trucks.

That's why I was so excited to find the series of books by Kate McMullen. These combine our favorites: Big vehicles, great illustrations, snappy dialouge, funny characters and stinky things.

I Stink: The trusty garbage truck who makes alphabet soup out of your throw-aways and the bold claim that without him you'd be on Mount Trash-o-rama baby!

I'm Dirty: The scoop who loves a good mud bath and a tasty dirt cake.

There's also:

I'm Bad: A ravenous reptile with loveable flaws &

I'm Mighty: The little tug boat who could.

These are good for a laugh every time and are actually entertaining to read for parents too.

What are your favorite funny books to share?
