Give My Kid A Cookie

February 25, 2009

And he will gobble it down and ask for another. I don't blame him one bit.

Is there anything better than sharing a sweet treat? Probably, but that scores pretty high on my list and I seem to have handed down my love of all things sugary to my kids.

Whether you sit down at a table for some one on one time or grab one and run, here are my top five recommendations for spots to grab a better-than-you-can-make-yourself cookie treat:

1. Milwaukee Public Market's C Adams Bakery: How does a Heath bar cookie sound? Pretty good right? This is just one of the many yummy varieties served up daily. As an added bonus there is plenty of room to roam around and ample seating upstairs for a sit down visit.

2. The City Market: A very kid friendly atmosphere awaits you here along with one of the best Toll House knock-off's I've ever had the pleasure to sample.

3. Breadsmith: No room to hang out here, but thick, hearty, tasty cookies galore.

4. Potbelly's: Never had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie I liked better. Never.

5. Scortino's Bakery: Dozens of italian cookies line the display cases. You can buy them by the pound. How fun is that to eat a bag of cookies? Very.

I may not have taught my children the absolute best lesson in healthy eating by providing such sweet goodness, but hey, at least I can teach them about sharing!
