Milwaukee Public Museum Sea Monsters

September 22, 2009

Take a prehistoric adventure back to the Late Cretaceous, when a great inland sea divided North America in two.

The Milwaukee Public Museum is showing a film that follows a curious and adventurous dolichorhynchops – familiarly known as a ‘dolly’ –as she travels through the most dangerous oceans in history. Along the way, she encounters long-necked plesiosaurs, giant turtles, enormous fish, fierce sharks, and the most dangerous sea monster of all, the mosasaur!

Possibility Playground

September 16, 2009

Possibility Playground is Ozaukee County’s first universally accessible playground for children of all physical abilities. Located in Upper Lake Park, Port Washington, the playground was built by the community in an old-fashioned barn-raising September 16-21, 2008.

This playground isn’t just for kids with a disability, it’s for everyone. Why not show up and celebrate, let the kids burn off some energy and maybe have an opportuinty to teach your children a little more about inclusion at the  very first Annual Build/Birthday Party on Sunday September 20th, from 1-4 at the playground.

The playground is in Port Washington, at Upper Lake Park, visit the webiste for more information and directions. www.possibilityplayground.org.
