Two scoops in a cone

I'll be the first to admit, it's not exactly ice cream weather around here, but really, do you need a reason for a sweet after-dinner treat? My son is loving strawberry ice cream right now. Every night after we eat he requests "two scoops please! In a cone!". The lovely pink color and the chunks of fresh strawberry almost make me feel like I'm giving him something healthy! (The same goes for me, as I can't resist a spoonful or two.)

Ahoy There! First Stage Preview

Coming soon to Milwaukee is First Stage Children's Theater's production of "How I Became A Pirate." The show runs April 17-May 17. The show is based on the book by Melinda Long and illustrated by David Shannon.

AARRRRGH! Really, who doesn't want to be a pirate? When young Jeremy Jacobs and his exceptional digging skills are recruited by Captain Braid Beard for treasure burying purposes, Jeremy thinks the pirate life is for him. Until he realizes that the simple things in life, like a kiss and a warm tucking in at night are those that are most important. A story of adventure and finding one's own heart - a path that can't be found on a treasure map.

Performances are held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and tickets range in price from $9 to $32.
