Best Spots for a Picnic

July 14, 2009

Milwaukee has HUNDREDS of picnic areas available for your summertime eating pleasures. Of course you can always show up with a blanket and a basket at any park at any time, but if you are looking to make a day of it, or hold a birthday celebration, here are some of the many reservable picnics spots available to you:

1. Jackson Park: There are 12 areas, some near playgrounds.

2. Kosciuszko, S. Eighth St. & Lincoln Ave. Only a couple of reservable lots, but you are right next to the pool!

3. Washington, 1859 N. 40 St. Ten spots open, all near a play area.

4. Kletzsch, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Pkwy. With eight spots open. Check to see which ones are near the playground.

5. Grant, 100 E. Hawthorne Ave. Again, lots of spots. Ask if yours is near the playground.

For a complete listing, visit the Milwaukee County Parks Website here.
